"TATTLETALE TELLS TALES", Woodcut, Ed of 16, Image size: 22"x33"/Paper size: 25"x38", 2023
$500.00 I designed "Tattletale Tells Tales" in 2019 after listening to Christine Blasey Ford's powerful testimony and then learning that Anita Hill went through the same ordeal back in 1991. Speaking truth to power is something many women don't choose to pursue because the backlash can be so devastating. I wanted to convey that fear by referencing vintage cinema posters— particularly horror films. The print validates the fears of victims and it was my intention through creating it to acknowledge that terrifying experience. |

$50.00 "Tear Drop", Screenprint, pressure printed letterpress, Ed of 26, 17"x 11", 2023 $150.00 The letterpress prints made with Matrix are halftone portrait blocks from my own type collection. I've always loved the mystery behind portrait blocks and I treat them like found objects to add my own context to. "La Loba" was designed because the expression of the woman reminded me of one of the archetypes in the quintessential feminist book Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. The women of "Teardrop" I consider as my foremothers—they are reacting to the present day and engulfed in sorrow that this society is still getting it wrong when it comes to so many essential rights. |

Artist Statement:
The artwork I make communicates messages of unrest, anxiety, and frustration as a woman. I relay these themes by using my unshakeable urge to be vulnerable. Through this urge I source my private memories, experiences, mantras, unspoken thoughts, and weak moments to bring fellowship and rapport with my viewer. I am driven to create work that focuses thematically on the agency of women because we live in a society where a woman’s voice is still marginalized and mocked.
